EIA to the Rescue

Recently I went on a trip to Japan and left my car in the value lot at Edmonton International Airport.  Normally this would be nothing to blog about.

However, there is a story here and I really want to recognize the Edmonton International Parking Authority.

On the way to the airport we had 2 large and 2 medium suitcases plus a stroller and a number of carry on bags in the back of the SUV.  On unloading the baggage, accidentally, the inside light switch at the back just by the hatch door was flipped on.  As it was daylight when we were unloading no one notice the light was on.

If you leave  a vehicle sitting in the value parking lot at EIA with an inside light on for over a week the battery goes dead – surprise.

On our return from an exhausting series of three flights taking over 24 hours of travel time (including airport waits) I was saddened to find the car battery was completely dead.

EIA Airport Authority to the rescue.   The emergency number is clearly posted on a large sign on the side of the indoor parking lot.  I called and was advised help would be there in ten minutes, they actually arrived in five.  My battery was so dead the first jump did not have the power and the driver called the backup truck which arrived with a booster pack.  The car was boosted and we were on our way within fifteen minutes of first finding it dead.

If you are ever in Edmonton Alberta and thinking of parking at the airport, don’t think twice, the service is fabulous.

EIA probably does not read my blog, but just in case, mundo thanks to the the two emergency service drivers, you don’t know how happy you made three exhausted travelers.
